RESUMO

A family of titanium complexes (Ti1-Ti7) with the general formula LTiCl3, supported by tridentate phenoxyimine [O-NO] ligands (L1-L7) bearing bulky sidearms, were synthesized by treating the corresponding ligands with stoichiometric amount of TiCl4. All the ligands and complexes were well characterized by 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopies, in which ortho- methoxyl groups on N-aryl moieties shifted to downfield, corroborating the successful coordination reaction. Structural optimization by DFT calculations revealed that one of the phenyl groups on dibenzhydryl moiety could form π-π stacking interaction with the salicylaldimine plane, because of which the obtained titanium complexes revealed good thermal stabilities for high-temperature polymerization of ethylene. The thermal robustness of the complexes was closely related to the strength of π-π stacking interactions, which were mainly influenced by the substituents on the dibenzhydryl moieties; Ti1, Ti4 and Ti5 emerged as the three best-performing complexes at 110 °C. With the aid of such π-π stacking interactions, the complexes were also found to be active at >150 °C, although decreased activities were witnessed. Besides homopolymerizations, complexes Ti1-Ti7 were also found to be active for the high-temperature copolymerization of ethylene and 1-octene, but with medium incorporation percentage, demonstrating their medium copolymerization capabilities.

RNA N6-methyladenosine (m6A) regulators play essential roles in diverse biological processes, including immune responses. Mounting evidence suggests that their dysregulation is intricately linked to numerous diseases. However, the role of m6A-associated genes in carotid atherosclerosis and their relationship with aging and immune cells remain unclear. Analyze the expression profiles of m6A-related genes in carotid atherosclerosis-related datasets. Based on the expression patterns of m6A-related genes, perform consistent clustering analysis of carotid atherosclerosis samples and investigate associated immune cell infiltration patterns and aging characteristics. Develop an m6A prediction model specific to carotid atherosclerosis and analyze the relationships between immune cells infiltration and aging features. The m6A methylation modification level exhibited a substantial decrease in early-stage carotid atherosclerosis samples compared to late-stage carotid atherosclerosis samples. Subsequently, two distinct m6A subtypes were defined through consensus clustering analysis, with the lower m6A modification level group showing associations with heightened immune cell infiltration and increased expression of aging-related genes. A model composed of five m6A-related genes was formulated, and the results indicated that this model possesses effective predictive and therapeutic capabilities for carotid atherosclerosis. Furthermore, the downregulation of YTHDC1 expression resulted in elevated expression of inflammatory factors and a decrease in the expression of the aging-related gene RGN. Single-cell data analysis suggests that the reduced expression of YTHDC1 may decrease the degradation of inflammation-related factors in macrophages, leading to a highly inflammatory state in the carotid artery wall. Furthermore, the sustained release of inflammatory factors may increase the expression of the aging-related gene RGN in vascular smooth muscle cells, further exacerbating the progression of atherosclerosis. A reduced level of m6A methylation modification could enhance inflammation and expedite cellular aging, thereby contributing to the development of carotid atherosclerosis.

BACKGROUND: Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive and lethal neurodegenerative disease. Several studies have suggested the involvement of cuproptosis in its pathogenesis. In this research, we intend to explore the cuproptosis-related molecular clusters in ALS and develop a novel cuproptosis-related genes prediction model. METHODS: The peripheral blood gene expression data was downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) online database. Based on the GSE112681 dataset, we investigated the critical cuproptosis-related genes (CuRGs) and pathological clustering of ALS. The immune microenvironment features of the peripheral blood in ALS patients were also examined using the CIBERSORT algorithm. Cluster-specific hub genes were determined by the WGCNA. The most accurate prediction model was selected by comparing the performance of four machine learning techniques. ROC curves and two independent datasets were applied to validate the prediction accuracy. The available compounds targeting these hub genes were filtered to investigate their efficacy in treating ALS. RESULTS: We successfully determined four critical cuproptosis-related genes and two pathological clusters with various immune profiles and biological characteristics in ALS. Functional analysis showed that genes in Cluster1 were primarily enriched in pathways closely associated with immunity. The Support Vector Machine (SVM) model exhibited the best discrimination properties with a large area under the curve (AUC = 0.862). Five hub prediction genes (BAP1, SMG1, BCLAF1, DHX15, EIF4G2) were selected to establish a nomogram model, suggesting significant risk prediction potential for ALS. The accuracy of this model in predicting ALS incidence was also demonstrated through calibration curves, nomograms, and decision curve analysis. Finally, three drugs targeting BAP1 were determined through drug-gene interactions. CONCLUSION: This study elucidated the complex associations between cuproptosis and ALS and constructed a satisfactory predictive model to explore the pathological characteristics of different clusters in ALS patients.

Aim: This study aimed to investigate the preliminary clinical outcomes of microwave ablation (MWA)-assisted surgical treatment for large glioma. Materials and Methods: In total, six cases of large glioma (diameter >4 cm) were described. All cases were treated with MWA-assisted surgical resection, which was performed using ultrasound to guide the accurate placement of the antenna in the central region of the tumor. The MWA power was 40-45 W, and 6 min was applied. Changes in the ablation area were observed using intraoperative Doppler ultrasound and contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS). Ten patients treated with surgical resection alone were included in the control group. Data on surgical times (i.e., the time from the incision of the dura to the removal of the tumor), intraoperative blood loss, and complications were recorded. Results: The median patient age was 45 years (range: 36.5-60.3 years). The median lesion diameter was 4.9 cm (range: 4.3-5.8). The microwave power was 40-45 W, and the median ablation time was 240 s (range: 208-297 s). The intra-tumoral vascular flow was significantly reduced after MWA. The median surgical time was shorter (38.5 min [range: 34.3-42.8 min]) and the median intraoperative blood loss was less (400 mL, [range: 400-450 mL]) in the combination treatment group than in the surgery-alone group. During the ablation process, no obvious additional neurological deficits were detected; however, a tube-shaped carbonide was found after the operation. Conclusion: MWA may be a useful complement to conventional techniques for the surgical resection of large glioma.

River water quality monitoring is crucial for understanding water dynamics and formulating policies to conserve the water environment. In situ ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectrometry holds great potential for real-time monitoring of multiple water quality parameters. However, establishing a reliable methodology to link absorption spectra to specific water quality parameters remains challenging, particularly for eutrophic rivers under various flow and water quality conditions. To address this, a framework integrating desktop and in situ UV-Vis spectrometers was developed to establish reliable conversion models. The absorption spectra obtained from a desktop spectrometer were utilized to create models for estimating nitrate-nitrogen (NO3-N), total nitrogen (TN), chemical oxygen demand (COD), total phosphorus (TP), and suspended solids (SS). We validated these models using the absorption spectra obtained from an in situ spectrometer. Partial least squares regression (PLSR) employing selected wavelengths and principal component regression (PCR) employing all wavelengths demonstrated high accuracy in estimating NO3-N and COD, respectively. The artificial neural network (ANN) was proved suitable for predicting TN in stream water with low NH4-N concentration using all wavelengths. Due to the dominance of photo-responsive phosphorus species adsorbed onto suspended solids, PLSR and PCR methods utilizing all wavelengths effectively estimated TP and SS, respectively. The determination coefficients (R2) of all the calibrated models exceeded 0.6, and most of the normalized root mean square errors (NRMSEs) were within 0.4. Our approach shows excellent efficiency and potential in establishing reliable models monitoring nitrogen, phosphorus, COD, and SS simultaneously. This approach eliminates the need for time-consuming and uncertain in situ absorption spectrum measurements during model setup, which may be affected by fluctuating natural and anthropogenic environmental conditions.

The imbalance between regulatory T (Treg) cells and efficient T cells plays an important role in psoriasis. Low-dose interleukin (IL)-2 can preferentially activate Treg cells and ameliorate the imbalance of Treg/efficient T cells. This study focused on the status of circulating CD4+ T subsets and the clinical efficacy of low-dose IL-2 therapies in psoriasis. This retrospective study included peripheral blood samples obtained from 45 psoriatic patients and 40 healthy controls. The 45 psoriatic patients received three cycles of subcutaneous low-dose IL-2 treatment (0.5 million IU/day for 2 weeks) combined with conventional therapies. Inflammatory indices, CD4+ T-lymphocyte subsets, and cytokines were measured in all patients before and after treatment. The percentage of Treg cells was dramatically decreased in the psoriasis group compared to the healthy group, and the percentage of Treg cells negatively correlated with the disease indices and the Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) (P < 0.001). The Th17/Treg ratio was significantly increased in the psoriasis group compared to the healthy group, and the Th17/Treg ratio positively correlated with disease indices and PASI (P < 0.001). Low-dose IL-2 treatment significantly amplified the percentage of Treg cells and restored the Th17 and Treg immune balance in psoriasis (P < 0.001). Low-dose IL-2 combination therapy effectively improved the clinical manifestations of psoriasis but decreased the inflammatory indicators of the disease activity, with no apparent side effects. Thus, low-dose IL-2 provides a new strategy for the treatment of psoriasis.

Phage therapy has potential to combat antibiotic-resistant bacteria causing bovine mastitis. Our objective was to use 3 Klebsiella lytic phages to create a phage cocktail, and to compare bactericidal activity of this phage cocktail versus an individual phage, both in vitro and in vivo. Based on transmission electron microscopy, phage CM_Kpn_HB154724 belonged to Podoviridae and on double agar plates, it formed translucent plaques on the bacterial lawn of Klebsiella pneumoniae KPHB154724. In one-step growth curves, this phage had a latent period of 40 min, an outbreak period of 40 min, a burst size of 1.2 × 107 PFU/mL, and an optimal multiplicity of infection (MOI) of 1. Furthermore, it was inactivated under extreme conditions (pH ≤ 3.0 or ≥ 12.0 and temperatures of 60 or 70 °C). It had a host range of 90% and had 146 predicted genes (Illumine NovaSeq). Based on histopathology and expression of inflammatory factors interleukin-1ß, tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin-6, and prostaglandin, phage cocktail therapy had better efficiency than an individual phage in K. pneumoniae-infected murine mammary glands. In conclusion, we used 3 Klebsiella lytic phages to create a phage cocktail and confirmed its effectiveness against K. pneumoniae both in vitro (bacterial lawn) and in vivo (infected murine mammary glands).

Glioblastoma (GBM) is a highly lethal neurological tumor that presents significant challenge for clinicians due to its heterogeneity and high mortality rate. Despite extensive research, there is currently no effective drug treatment available for GBM. Research evidence has consistently demonstrated that the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) promotes tumor progression and is associated with poor prognosis in several types of cancer. In glioma, EGFR abnormal amplification is reported in approximately 40% of GBM patients, with overexpression observed in 60% of cases, and deletion or mutation in 24% to 67% of patients. In our study, Sitravatinib, a potential EGFR inhibitor, was identified through molecular docking screening based on protein structure. The targeting of EGFR and the tumor inhibitory effect of Sitravatinib on glioma were verified through cellular and in vivo experiments, respectively. Our study also revealed that Sitravatinib effectively inhibited GBM invasive and induced DNA damage and cellular senescence. Furthermore, we observed a novel cell death phenotype induced by Sitravatinib, which differed from previously reported programmed death patterns such as apoptosis, pyroptosis, ferroptosis, and necrosis.

This study was based on the observation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), conventional gaseous air pollutants, and meteorological parameters observed at the Xinxiang Municipal Party School site from June to August 2021. The ozone (O3) characteristics and sensitivity of O3 pollution days and the control strategy of its precursors were studied using an observation-based model (OBM). It was found that the meteorological conditions were characterized by high temperature, low humidity, and low pressure in O3-pollution days. The concentrations of O3 and its precursors all increased in the O3 pollution days. Oxygenated volatile organic compounds (OVOCs) and alkanes were the highest-concentration components of VOCs on O3 pollution days in Xinxiang, and OVOCs had the highest ozone formation potential (OFP) and hydroxyl (·OH) reactivity. According to the relative incremental reactivity (RIR) analysis, during the O3 pollution days in Xinxiang, O3sensitivity was in the VOCs-limited regime in June and in the transitional regime in July and August. Ozone production was more sensitive to alkenes and OVOCs. The RIR values of the precursors in June changed throughout the day, but O3 sensitivity remained the VOCs-limited regime. In July and August, O3 sensitivity was the VOCs-limited regime in the morning, transitional regime at noon, transitional and NOx-limited regime, respectively in the afternoon. By simulating different precursor-reduction scenarios, the results showed that the reduction of VOCs was always beneficial to the control of O3, whereas the reduction of NOx had little effect on the control of O3 and a risk of increasing O3.

BACKGROUND: D-dimer exhibits a certain prognostic value in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients who underwent hepatectomy and microwave ablation, while its value in estimating the clinical benefit of drug-eluting beads transarterial chemoembolization (DEB-TACE) remains unclear. Hence, this study aimed to investigate the correlation of D-dimer with tumor features, response and survival to DEB-TACE in HCC patients. METHODS: Fifty-one HCC patients treated with DEB-TACE were recruited. Their serum samples at baseline and after DEB-TACE were collected and proposed for D-dimer detection by the immunoturbidimetry method. RESULTS: Elevated D-dimer levels were related to a higher Child‒Pugh stage (P = 0.013), tumor nodule number (P = 0.031), largest tumor size (P = 0.004), and portal vein invasion (P = 0.050) in HCC patients. Then, patients were classified by the median value of D-dimer, and it was observed that patients with D-dimer >0.7 mg/L achieved a lower complete response rate (12.0% vs. 46.2%, P = 0.007) but a similar objective response rate (84.0% vs. 84.6%, P = 1.000) compared to those with D-dimer ≤0.7 mg/L. The Kaplan‒Meier curve showed that D-dimer >0.7 mg/L (vs. ≤0.7 mg/L) was related to shorter overall survival (OS) (P = 0.013). Further univariate Cox regression analyses showed that D-dimer >0.7 mg/L (vs. ≤0.7 mg/L) was related to unfavorable OS [hazard ratio (HR): 5.524, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.209-25.229, P = 0.027], but it failed to independently estimate OS (HR: 10.303, 95%CI: 0.640-165.831, P = 0.100) in multivariate Cox regression analyses. Moreover, D-dimer was elevated during DEB-TACE therapy (P<0.001). CONCLUSION: D-dimer may be helpful for monitoring prognosis to DEB-TACE therapy in HCC, while further large-scale-study validation is warranted.

Fully bio-based ion-conductive organo-hydrogels with multi-functionalities such as high mechanical properties, self-healing, anti-freezing, and non-drying capabilities are still extremely rare so far, and achieving it remains a great challenge. In this work, a starch/natural rubber composite hydrogel is first obtained by a simple one-pot method, and then an ion-conductive organo-hydrogel composed of starch, natural rubber, lithium chloride, and glycerol with adjustable mechanical properties (ultimate tensile stress of 0.15-2.33 MPa with a failure strain of 675-1367%, elastic modulus of 0.087-15.2 MPa) is fabricated by a solvent replacement strategy. The organo-hydrogels exhibit excellent fatigue resistance, elasticity, and good self-healing, anti-freezing, non-drying properties (with no obvious change after 10 days at ambient environment). The obtained hydrogels are successfully applied to monitor human movement with high durability (over 1000 cycles) and low hysteresis. In addition, the sensors exhibit high stability in a wide temperature range from -20 °C to 100 °C that endows it with a wide range of potential applications in flexible sensing and wearable devices.

Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most lethal primary brain tumor with a poor median survival of less than 15 months. However, clinical strategies and effective therapies are limited. Here, we found that the second-generation small molecule multi-CDK inhibitor AT7519 is a potential drug for GBM treatment according to high-throughput screening via the Approved Drug Library and Clinical Compound Library (2718 compounds). We found that AT7519 significantly inhibited the cell viability and proliferation of U87MG, U251, and patient-derived primary GBM cells in a dose-dependent manner. Furthermore, AT7519 also inhibited the phosphorylation of CDK1/2 and arrested the cell cycle at the G1-S and G2-M phases. More importantly, AT7519 induced intrinsic apoptosis and pyroptosis via caspase-3-mediated cleavage of gasdermin E (GSDME). In the glioblastoma intracranial and subcutaneous xenograft assays, tumor volume was significantly reduced after treatment with AT7519. In summary, AT7519 induces cell death through multiple pathways and inhibits glioblastoma growth, indicating that AT7519 is a potential chemical available for GBM treatment.

Lacustrine eutrophication is generally considered as an important contributor of carbon emissions to the atmosphere; however, there is still a huge challenge in accuracy estimating carbon emissions from lakes. To test the effect of widely used space-for-time substitution on lake carbon emissions, this study monitored different processes of carbon emissions, including the carbon production potential, dissolved carbon concentrations, and carbon release fluxes in eight lakes along the trophic gradients on a spatial scale and the typical eutrophic Lake Taihu for one year on a temporal scale. Eutrophication promoted carbon production potential, dissolved carbon concentrations, and carbon release fluxes, especially for CH4. Trophic lake index (TLI) showed positive correlations with the CH4 production potential, dissolved CH4 concentrations, and CH4 release fluxes, and also positive correlations with the CO2 production potential, dissolved CO2 concentrations, and CO2 release fluxes. The space-for-time substitution led to an overestimation for the influence of eutrophication on carbon emissions, especially the further intensification of lake eutrophication. On the spatial scale, the average CH4 production potential, dissolved CH4 concentrations and CH4 release fluxes in eutrophic lakes were 268.6, 0.96 µmol/L, and 587.6 µmol m-2·h-1, respectively, while they were 215.8, 0.79 µmol/L, and 548.6 µmol m-2·h-1 on the temporal scale. Obviously, CH4 and CO2 emissions on the spatial scale were significantly higher than those on the temporal scale in eutrophic lakes. The primary influencing factors were the seasonal changes in the physicochemical environments of lake water, including dissolved oxygen (DO) and temperature. The CH4 and CO2 release fluxes showed negative correlations with DO, while temperature displayed positive correlations, respectively. These results suggest that the effects of DO and temperature on lake carbon emissions should be considered, which may be ignored during the accurate assessment of lake carbon budget via space-for-time substitution in eutrophic lakes.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a highly disabling, systemic autoimmune disease. It presents a remarkable tendency to recur, which renders it almost impossible for patients to live without drugs. Under such circumstances, many patients have to suffer the pain of recurrent attacks as well as the side effects of long-term medication. Current therapies for RA are primarily systemic treatments without targeting the problem that RA is more likely to recur locally. Emerging studies suggest the existence of a mechanism mediating local memory during RA, which is closely related to the persistent residence of tissue-resident memory T cells (TRM). TRM, one of the memory T cell subsets, reside in tissues providing immediate immune protection but driving recurrent local inflammation on the other hand. The heterogeneity among synovial TRM is unclear, with the dominated CD8+ TRM observed in inflamed synovium of RA patients coming into focus. Besides local arthritis relapse, TRM may also contribute to extra-articular organ involvement in RA due to their migration potential. Future integration of single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) with spatial transcriptomics to explore the gene expression patterns of TRM in both temporal dimension and spatial dimension may help us identify specific therapeutic targets. Targeting synovial TRM to suppress local arthritis flares while using systemic therapies to prevent extra-articular organ involvement may provide a new perspective to address RA recurrence.

Bovine mastitis caused by multi-drug resistant (MDR) Klebsiella pneumoniae is difficult to treat with antibiotics, whereas bacteriophages may be a viable alternative. Our objective was to use 2 K. pneumoniae strains, 1 MDR and the other non-MDR, to isolate phages from sewage samples and compare their biological and genomic characteristics. Additionally, phage infected mouse mammary gland was also analyzed by H&E staining and ELISA kits to compare morphology and inflammatory factors, respectively. Based on assessments with double agar plates and transmission electron microscopy, phage CM_Kpn_HB132952 had clear plaques surrounded by translucent halos on the bacterial lawn of K. pneumoniae KPHB132952 and belonged to Siphoviridae, whereas phage CM_Kpn_HB143742 formed a clear plaque on the bacterial lawn of K. pneumoniae KPHB143742 and belonged to Podoviridae. In 1-step growth curves, CM_Kpn_HB132952 and CM_Kpn_HB143742 had burst sizes of 0.34 and 0.73 log10 PFU/mL, respectively. The former had a latent period of 50 min and an optimal multiplicity of infection (MOI) of 0.01, whereas for the latter, the latent period was 30 min (MOI = 1). Phage CM_Kpn_HB132952 had better thermal and acid-base stability than phage CM_Kpn_HB143742. Additionally, both phages had the same host range rate but different host ranges. Based on Illumina NovaSeq, phages CM_Kpn_HB132952 and CM_Kpn_HB143742 had 140 and 145 predicted genes, respectively. Genomic sequencing and phylogenetic tree analysis indicated that both phages were novel phages belonging to the Klebsiella family. Additionally, the histopathological structure and inflammatory factors TNF-α and IL-1ß were not significantly different among phage groups and the control group. In conclusion, using 1 MDR and 1 non-MDR strain of K. pneumoniae, we successfully isolated two phages from the same sewage sample, and demonstrated that they had distinct biological and genomic characteristics.

Prototheca bovis, a highly contagious pathogen, causes bovine mastitis, resulting in premature culling of affected cows and severe economic losses. Infection with P. bovis caused oxidative stress and apoptosis in bovine mammary epithelial cells (bMECs); however, mechanisms underlying P. bovis-induced autophagy remain unclear. Therefore, the autophagy flux induced by P. bovis in bMECs was analyzed by Western blot and laser scanning confocal microscopy. Expression levels of proteins in the HIF-1α and AMPKα/ULK1 pathway, including HIF-1α, AMPKα, p-AMPKα, ULK1, p-ULK1, mTOR, and p-mTOR, plus expression of autophagy-related genes including SQSTM1/p62, Atg5, Beclin1, and LC3II/LC3I, were quantified with Western blot. Infection with P. bovis induced autophagosomes and LC3 puncta in bMECs that were detected using transmission electron microscopy and laser scanning confocal microscopy, respectively. In addition, lysosome-associated proteins Rab7 and LAMP2a, and lysosomal activity were measured with Western blot and laser scanning confocal microscopy. Infection with P. bovis induced an unobstructed autophagic flux, increased protein expression of LC3II/LC3I, and decreased SQSTM1/p62 protein expression at 6 hpi. Furthermore, P. bovis upregulated protein expression in the HIF-1α and AMPKα/ULK1 pathway and increased the ratio of LC3II/LC3I, implying autophagy was activated in bMECs. However, deletion of AMPKα or ULK1 decreased LC3II/LC3I expression levels and LC3 puncta numbers, suggesting that autophagy was inhibited in bMECs. Additionally, deficiency of HIF-1α decreased protein expression of AMPKα and ULK1 as well as LC3 puncta numbers, and autophagy induced by P. bovis was also inhibited in bMECs. At 6 hpi, lysosome-associated protein Rab7 was decreased and LAMP2a was increased, indicating normal autophagy. In contrast, at 12 hpi, expression of Rab7 and LAMP2a proteins indicated that autophagy was inhibited in bMECs at that time. Therefore, we confirmed that P. bovis infection induced autophagy in bMECs via the HIF-1α and AMPKα/ULK1 pathway, with involvement of lysosome-associated protein Rab7 and LAMP2a.

In the last few decades, self-healing polymeric materials have been widely investigated because they can heal the damages spontaneously and thereby prolong their service lifetime. Many ingenious synthetic procedures have been developed for fabricating self-healing polymers with high performance. This mini review provides an impressive summary of the self-healing polymers with fast self-healing speed, which exhibits an irreplaceable role in many intriguing applications, such as flexible electronics. After a brief introduction to the development of self-healing polymers, we divide the development of self-healing polymers into five stages through the perspective of their research priorities at different periods. Subsequently, we elaborated the underlying healing mechanism of polymers, including the self-healing origins, the influencing factors, and direct evidence of healing at nanoscopic level. Following this, recent advance in realizing the fast self-healing speed of polymers through physical and chemical approaches is extensively overviewed. In particular, the methodology for balancing the mechanical strength and healing ability in fast self-healing elastomers is summarized. We hope that it could afford useful information for research people in promoting the further technical development of new strategies and technologies to prepare the high performance self-healing elastomers for advanced applications.

Fully bio-based hydrogels with printability, high toughness, self-healing, robust mechanical property and conductivity are highly desired but now remain a huge challenge. In this work, inspired by preparation of "Liangpi" (cold noodles, a traditional Chinese food), a satisfactory hydrogel was constructed using starch and natural rubber latex through a simple heating process. Benefitting from the physical dual cross-linked network, the resultant composite hydrogels exhibited high mechanical properties (ultimate tensile stress of 1.01 MPa with a failure strain of 1500 %, high toughness of 6.28 MJ m-3), good self-healing ability and 3D printability. Moreover, a conductive hydrogel can be easily obtained by in-situ silver mirror reaction during the heating process, which enable the hydrogel to be used as a wearable sensor to monitor human motions with high gauge factor of 2.027 and good durability (1000 cycles). Taking the advantage of its printability, electronic glove (E-glove) has been easily prepared by printing the precursor sol directly on the glove and successfully used to detect the hand motions exactly. This work provides a new route for the fabrication of multifunctional hydrogels with high performance and opens a new road for designing complex wearable sensors to monitor human motions.
